WebJan 29, 2014 · The key to this passage, in my mind, is the fact that God calls his first disciples to continue to be who they already are. He doesn’t call them to become something they are not in order to follow him. They will not completely abandon their identities as fisherman. They will now be “fishers of men.”. I think God calls us all in the same way.
